Ronny Scott's All Stars

Ever since his first trip to the jazz clubs of New York in the late 40s, Ronnie Scott had dreamed of opening his own London venue. In 1959 this dream came true when he, along with fellow saxophonist Pete King, opened Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho. With residencies from the likes of Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins and Zoot Sims, it quickly built a reputation as the place to hear the jazz greats from around the world. Now, approaching its 50 year anniversary, the club’s reputation is as strong as ever. Recent headline acts have included Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Kenny Garrett and Billy Cobham with support from the ever-present Ronnie Scott’s house bands, featuring some of the biggest names on the British Jazz Scene.

Under the leadership of Musical Director and pianist James Pearson, the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars have become a permanent fixture at the club, providing daily support spots and working with some of the visiting International stars. Made up from some of the best British musicians around, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars perform in various different combinations, from the solo pianist or jazz trio often seen backing the guest artists, to the full band which has entertained audiences worldwide. The long standing residency of these musicians at Ronnie Scott’s has helped them gain the reputation as one of the tightest units around, as guests at the club will testify to!

The All Stars are in great demand for major events, festivals and performances at venues worldwide and have played with the likes of Jools Holland, Bruce Forsyth, Kevin Spacey, Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck, Bryan Ferry, Nigel Kennedy, Lulu, Gwyneth Herbert, Liane Carroll, Jane Mondheit, Sir John Dankworth, Elvin Jones, Joss Stone, Johnny Griffin, Richard Rodney Bennett, Jamie Cullum, Billy Cobham Roy Hargrove and Dame Cleo Laine …to name a few! They have also made special appearances at the City of London Festival, Henley Festival, Feast of Albion Festival, and Holders Festival in Barbados as well as a celeb packed charity event in Central London.
